I Wandered lonely as a cloud....

Daffodils

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
William Wordsworth

In this poem the poet from the very beginning represents the idea of loneliness. The poet thinks of himself as a cloud in the sense of being free.Suddenly, in his solitude while the poet was walking lonely, he saw unlimited number of golden daffodils. The poet’s loneliness was replaced by joy after seeing the daffodils. He remembers the happy dancing of the daffodils and waves while he is lying on his couch. As result, he becomes happy and his heart is filled with pleasure and happiness. contemplation of nature is the source of his happiness even he starts to dance with the daffodils after his heart is filled with pleasure.  Thus this poem represents the beauty of nature and its effect on human beings.

First Day at School

First Day at School
A millionbillionwillion miles from home
Waiting for the bell to go. (To go where?)
Why are they all so big, other children?
So noisy? So much at home they
Must have been born in uniform
Lived all their lives in playgrounds
Spent the years inventing games
That don't let me in. Games
That are rough, that swallow you up.

And the railings.
All around, the railings.
Are they to keep out wolves and monsters?
Things that carry off and eat children?
Things you don't take sweets from?
Perhaps they're to stop us getting out
Running away from the lessins. Lessin.
What does a lessin look like?
Sounds small and slimy.
They keep them in the glassrooms.
Whole rooms made out of glass. Imagine.

I wish I could remember my name
Mummy said it would come in useful.
Like wellies. When there's puddles.
Yellowwellies. I wish she was here.
I think my name is sewn on somewhere
Perhaps the teacher will read it for me.
Tea-cher. The one who makes the tea.
Roger McGough

The poet portrays about the feeling of young child on his very first day to school who has just been dropped off by his mother in the playground.  The child thinks about the appearance of other children, his hesitation in playing at the playground. The child thinks that the other’s games are rough. Here the poet describes about the nervousness of a child and how the railing around the school seems like a monsters. The misspelled words like “lessins”, “glassrooms” in the poem makes us feel that the poem was written by a child. The poet describes the child's difficulty in remembering his name and he hopes that teacher would read his name.“Tea-cher” makes tea adds a sense of comic relief to the poem.

"Hope" is the thing with feathers

"Hope" is the thing with feathers

"Hope" is the thing with feathers—
That perches in the soul—
And sings the tune without the words—
And never stops—at all—

And sweetest—in the Gale—is heard—
And sore must be the storm—
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm—

I've heard it in the chillest land—
And on the strangest Sea—
Yet, never, in Extremity,
It asked a crumb—of Me.
Emily Dickinson

This is extract from poem “Life”. It depicts the image of bird to the idea of hope. The author compares the hope with the feathers which help us to fly. She describes that hope is present inside and something that cannot be formed into words, yet we can feel that. The author portrays that hope is strongest because the storm must be cruel especially for small birds yet hope brings joy and comfort to the people. In contrary anger can cause damage to our happiness. And also can cause pain that hurts to the most. The author explains that hope is present in everyone. It can be felt over strangest sea, coldest lands and even in the worst storms.

Fun in Fun Republic

Visiting malls with their peers is the most fun, frolic enjoyment for everyone. This happened with us also ,we the class of PGDM went together to the FUN Republic Mall but for a surprise not for sighting or fighting.Entered the mall for the first time big mouthed as this is the only near by hang out place for all of us .We all got scattered to know the nook and corner of the place; a child gobbling her food given by her mother, two old couples chit chatting ,few guys and gals playing, these were the scenes which I happened to see there but things cannot happen in this same manner after the commencement of all shops.
Almost all shops were open but still the buzzing of people haven't started to the expectation. The one and only shop which is flooded by customers is the Mc Donalds where we can find people gorging burgers all the time, the spotlight of Fun Republic.People just step into this mall since it is a newcomer to the city ,but all their expectations lies in the opening of fun cinemas. When fun cinemas are opened this will be the most visited place by all the youngsters in and around this mall.
Food court -the ultimate destination for everyone seems to be good and pleasing.Mall’s food court is seen as the perfect market  place for the restaurant holders. They feel this is the apt place for their outlet since the entire Coimbatore place their footsteps over here. The manager of RHR restaurant who had an experience of almost 20 years in RHR feels that capturing and retaining the customers in this food court outlet is most toughest job compared to other outlets in the Coimbatore as almost all their competitors also have an outlet here.

Parking is the greatest problem over here, since the mall is located along the NH of the city. Though people don’t even buy goods equaling their petrol cost to reach here, they always wanted to come in car or two wheeler. Men are always jealous of women, in spite of many outlets for men’s shopping, they feel that this mall have shops exclusively for women. When we are almost tired we will surely feel why cant they put few benches for resting, but this doesn't happen in any mall except the Fun republic where we have benches in each and every floor for resting, chatting etc.As a whole this is going to be the best hangout place for everyone.

Finally I wanted to share the most funny thing which happened here,as almost half of our class entered the mall at one stretch and started asking feedback from the visitors. We were surrounded by people and this went to the notice of the manager, who came all the way and started yelling at us.Though we tried to explain he was in no mood to listen to us,to the extreme he even started asking fine for interrogating the customers. We all came back laughing from Fun republic with lots of memories.Though we did this for the purpose of assignment we had a great experience in handling people and interacting to them.
